KENSUKE FUJIYOSHI

Ceramicist / Porcelain Sculptor / Sumi-e Artist

Kensuke FUJIYOSHI

Breathing new life into tradition through unique personal vision.

Kensuke produces traditional Japanese porcelain tableware, as well as his own special brand of miniature figurines, sculptures and ornamental boxes in fine porcelain. One of his unique points is that he does all product processes himself. As a result, all his work has harmonious beauty.

He was trained in Japanese calligraphy from an early age because his father was a calligraphy teacher. Due to the training, he naturally developed skills of painting with a brush, a sense of grasping space, and a viewpoint of harmonious beauty. Those points are his advantages as a ceramicist and a sculptor.

He now creates his pieces as a ceramicist, porcelain sculptor, and sumi-e artist (Japanese ink painter). What he wants to do is connect traditional Japanese craftsmanship to contemporary artwork. His aim is to make things that will be loved a thousand years from now.
